Death is Neither a Defeat nor Failure.
It is a transition, it is a moving on. Still, we grieve the loss of our friends. We did not keep in touch, the way we promised we would. Now, we honor them in our thoughts and in our memories. We hope we can provide a meaningful reminder for the wonderful people who have gone on.
We remember our classmates and faculty the way they were when we last saw them. In our memory they are young and vibrant, full of hopes and dreams. They are idealistic. Their life had meaning and helped shape the people we became. We thank them for the privilege of knowing them.
Faculty provided inspiration and were role models for our young minds. They guided us through the trials of adolescence with logic, poetry, language and science. They helped us learn how to apply principles of right and wrong and helped us decide our future. We thank them for their dedication, ingenuity and fortitude in continuing, when, many times, it might have been easier to give up. We truly thank them, and remember them here.

We recognize our classmates for their achievements and contributions to their families, churches and communities. This generation witnessed societal changes so powerful the very core of middle America will never be the same. People continue to recognize the efforts of this generation in the advancement of Women’s Rights and racial equality. Society has a more accepting view of people who are not "just like us" due in part to the efforts of this generation. We honor them here and will remember them always.
